Welcome to this weeks NEVER HEARD THAT.

Sometimes we place a band within a genre and leave them there.

I think a good example are those bands that play a heavier style of music – the first thing we tend to hear is a big noise, and if we are averse to this style of music we quickly move on.

Not surprisingly of course, doing this sort of thing means we will miss out on some special stuff.

Take New Zealand band SHIHAD. They play heavy rock but their sophistication and mastery of the genre is something special.
