Welcome to NEVER HEARD THAT.

One of things that I truly love about music is that you can literally stumble upon a great song at any point.

That happened for me with Scottish band FRIGHTENED RABBIT. I had the opportunity to have a quick listen to the radio and todays track is the one that was being played.

I was completely won over, instantly.

Welcome to NEVER HEARD THAT.

Eighties UK band, LLOYD COLE AND THE COMMOTIONS, were a group whose debut album caused great excitement and gained much success.

Original, musical and literate, Rattlesnakes, launched them onto a welcoming and appreciative world.

Pressure inevitably followed that success – they realised that they should have taken a deep breath and planned their next steps but that didn’t happen. It was not much later that they disbanded.

I sense that many bands could possibly speak of similar things?

Scottish band THE JESUS AND MARY CHAIN were synonymous with chaos.

Some champion their pioneering use of driving feedback or completely unpredictable live performances.

For me, it is this rare occasion when they allowed their barriers to come down by including a feminine touch.

Welcome to NEVER HEARD THAT.

The Models were formed in Melbourne Australia in the late 70’s and were an ‘arty’ band in the truest sense.

Although slightly left of centre, they brought real originality to their songs.

The verses they wrote for songs like Cut Lunch, Local and/or General, I Hear Motion and a number of other tracks in my humble opinion are as cool as anyone has ever done.

I actually struggled to work out which one to choose!
