Welcome to this weeks NEVER HEARD THAT.

Scottish band MOGWAI are far removed from last weeks classical music. Guitar, bass, keyboards and drums are their choice of instruments.

They do however, use the concept of layering very impressively in their music.

All sorts of musical motifs are added and subtracted over the course of one of their songs – they move from gentle and fragile to huge and loud. And across their ebbs and flows nary a vocal is heard!
