Welcome to this weeks NEVER HEARD THAT show.

Pop is sometimes used as a label to devalue a certain style of music.

I’m not so much into Top 40 music but if pop is about making the listener feel good, then that has to be considered a worthwhile pursuit.

This track by the B-52S is in my humble opinion, perfect pop. The back story to the song and the album it came from is one of utmost tragedy, which is certainly why it is not well known, but somehow amongst all of that they managed to create something of pure joy.

I really hope you feel that joy too.
