NHT018: REGURGITATOR – Kung Foo Sing

Hi,

Welcome to this weeks “Never Heard That Show”.

I have perhaps been guilty so far of not really ‘rawking’ out, so for this show, we are “going off, fully amped”.

Regurgitator are an Aussie band who somehow managed to bring a lot of humour to their music – one of the few who have managed to do that.

They could also write a seriously pumping song.

This track, “Kung Foo Sing”, I rank as highly as the very, very best from the US or the UK. Prepare to move!

I hope you enjoy this week’s “Never Heard That”!

Cheers, Andrew Muecke

NHT017: PETER GABRIEL – Of These, Hope

Hi,

For this weeks “Never Heard That” show, we are placing our focus on the amazing Peter Gabriel.

Not only is he a musician who has achieved incredible heights as both a solo artist and also as a founding member of Genesis, he is also a world music pioneer and the motivating force behind the incredible WOMAD festivals.

The track we are focusing on today, “Of these, hope” is from his album Passion – this is the work that joined his amazing musical career with that as a world music champion. A special man indeed.

Please enjoy this weeks “Never Heard That”.

Cheers, Andrew Muecke

NHT016: SIOUXSIE AND THE BANSHEES – Dizzy

Hi,

Today’s “Never Heard That” show features “Siouxsie and the Banshees”.

True ‘trail-blazers’ in every sense of the word, this band achieved an amazing amount.

Starting their career with one foot in the ‘punk’ camp, they really stepped out and achieved a remarkable level of sophistication and musical diversity over their time together.

We are focusing on their track “Dizzy’ – a gem discovered after the band had called it quits.

See what you think of this weeks “Never Heard That”!

Cheers,
Andrew Muecke

NHT014: ICEHOUSE – The Mountain

Hi,

Welcome to this weeks “Never Heard That” show.

For Australians growing up in the 1980’s and early 1990’s, Iva Davies and Icehouse were a constant.

Starting out as a rock band and gaining international success as the band ‘Flowers’, they transitioned to the name ‘Icehouse’ and to more international success.

Here is a really sophisticated piece of pop music. Iva Davies and Icehouse at their very, very best. I hope that you enjoy this weeks “Never Heard That”!

Cheers, Andrew Muecke
